Toyota Tundra Diesel Powertrain

Under the hood of the top four out of six trims, you will find a 5.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. This is the most powerful engine in the lineup, but it is well behind the competition.

The first two Tundra models come with a 4.6-liter V8 rated at 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque. No matter which engine you select, you will receive a six-speed automatic transmission.

The new Tundra is not the best when it comes to the fuel efficiency as well. According to EPA estimates, the smaller-engine Tundra is rated at 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway, while bigger-engine models return 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

Speaking of towing abilities, the new Tundra can tow up to 10,200 pounds. For instance, the F-150 easily tows up to 11,600 pounds, while the Ram 1500 reaches a 12,750-mark.

Interior

There is a lot of room inside the 2019 Toyota Tundra Diesel. Despite comfortable interior and loads of space, once again, the Tundra lacks the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Most Tundras feature a 7-inch touchscreen with a CD player, USB and auxiliary ports, voice recognition, Siri Eyes Free and satellite radio, as well as Bluetooth streaming.
