Sergio Sette Camara scored a testing and development role with the famous Formula 1 team McLaren, after joining their team’s junior program. He teamed up with Lando Norris who replaced Stoffel Vandoorne in McLaren.

My aim is to integrate myself in the team and work as closely with them as possible; to listen, learn and help to develop as a driver, as well as support McLaren.”
As a driver with Macau Grand Prix and Masters of F3 experience, Sette was a part of the Junior Team of Red Bull during his two-season stunt in European F3 with Motopark. In 2016, he also tested the Toro Rosso STR11 car at Silverstone. Before moving to F2, he left Red Bull. He came in 12th in his debut season, scoring the first win for MP Motorsport with the Dallara GP2/11 car in three years.
After switching to Carlin in his second season, he was a regular frontrunner. Currently he holds the sixth place in the standings ahead of the finale in Abu Dhabi.

He added, “We’ve been following his progress for some time and believe he is a promising young talent with a real potential. We’re looking forward to working with him to develop his skills as a well-rounded driver, while having him support our racing operations.”
Future is bright for the young Brazilian driver, and a move to McLaren is a positive sign for his sure to come Formula 1 career.
