8. Jan And Kevin Magnussen
While he was moving through junior cranks of racing, Jackie Stewart described Jan as “the most talented young driver to emerge since Ayrton Senna”. He failed however to come close to the achievements of the Brazilian legend. After only a season and a half spent with Jackie’s team, Jos Verstappen replaced Jan. After this, he never came back to F1. He managed to score only one point during his short career, in his final race.
His more successful son Kevin got the podium finish in his very first race. He came in second for McLaren in Melbourne in 2014. However, he has yet to grab the podium again.
Since then, he cemented himself as a solid driver usually finishing good enough for the middle points range. Kevin is still only 25 however, and his best years are probably in front of him.
He is the clear winner here, first one for the sons on our list.
