Is Your Car Cool Enough To Race?

Some of us may not be lucky enough to have partaken in a race day at one of our most love race tracks. Turning up to a race day or event and driving some of the most powerful cars ever to have been manufactured is a surefire way to get your adrenaline pumping and testosterone levels to go through the roof. These cars though, have been purpose built to enthrall drivers and their experiences on the tracks (or roads they treat like tracks)… but, is your car cool enough to attend?

People spend a lot of their hard earned money on making their pride and joy more personalized, faster of the mark, higher top speeds, lower suspension and any other tweak you can possible think of.

Many people add their own decals, buy personalized number plates from somewhere like Number 1 Plates – (for more details check https://www.number1plates.com) in order to make their car stand out from the crowd. Number plates can often make some people lean one way or the other. They can be great personal additions to a car or bike, while other see them as a snobby approach to showing your wealth. Even though some plates sell for less than £200!

And sometimes this works. Would the world famous blue Subaru Impreza with yellow details ever of been the same without those exact markings? That being said, this car was tuned within an inch of its life to be able to top leaderboard in competitions all over the globe.

Smaller changes can be made to make your car look the part on the day. Simply ensure you clean it with all of the correct utensils and liquids can make all the difference. Companies like Auto-Glym spend their entire lifetimes developing car shampoo, allow cleaner and rust repair oils to bring car, bike or any other vehicle back to life. So why not invest in them?

We can’t see what makes a car cool enough on the exterior to be able to attend a track day, it’s what is on the inside that counts (and we don’t mean the driver). A car like the Fiat 500 Abarth for example. It may keep some of it’s respectable, ‘cute’ exterior even with the upgraded body kit and lower suspension, but it packs a huge punch on the tarmac and its enough to out do many other cars of its type in the industry. So why wouldn’t this be cool enough?

The issue is then, if you were to tailor your vehicle to look amazing on the track. With its brightly coloured decals, huge dual-cylinder exhausts and tighter suspension, how would you look in the supermarket carpark? When all things are said and done, it is impossible to please everybody, and tick every box. In an ideal world you would be able to have a track day only car, that was kept under lock and key until you let in loose around a course. For now though, make sure you vehicle is in the best possible condition for day to day life.
