Robert Kubica 2019 F1 Return Is Almost Certain

At this point, it seems certainly that Robert Kubica will return in 2019, once again racing for Williams. According to Auto Motor und Sport, Kubica received an offer to be the test driver for Williams and Ferrari.
“His comeback chances at Williams are over 90%. It’s only about details, for example about how many Friday practice sessions a third driver does. Williams is apparently selling the Fridays to a wealthy client,” the German report claims.

Mercedes wanted Esteban Ocon to take the Williams seat for 2019 season, but the British team was demanding too much, according to Toto Wolff.

He told Brazil’s Globo: “We cannot invest at the level they need. We cannot give what they want.” There are some predictions that Mercedes could subsidise its customer engine for Ocon and his seat. With this statement, Wolff agrees: “Money is money, no matter how you make it available. But we cannot give what they want.”

Instead of that, Ocon will most like be the reserve driver at Williams for 2019. Moreover, he might participate in other Mercedes-powered teams such as Force India. “He could be a test driver for us, Force India and maybe Williams. And he will be sitting in the simulator a lot,” Wolff said.

When it comes to Kubica, though, he has just told Ferrari that he would not be their test driver. And that means one thing only – he will spend one more season with Williams! Follow us for more information about F1.
