3. Robert Kubica
Robert Kubica is first Pole in the Formula 1 ever. It seemed that his career would be impressive, but everything changed after a Ronde di Andorra rally race in 2011. He then turned off the road and hit the protective fence.
On that occasion, one part of the protective fence passed through his car and inflicted heavy hand injuries and several fractures.
He was soon transported to a Savona hospital where he had a seven-hours surgery that was only one in a series of many later surgeries. Doctors then fought to preserve their arm amputation.
